The United States, in an effort to disrupt the supply line, conducted a secret bombing campaign in Laos, dropping more than 2 million tons of bombs between 1964 and 1973. This period is known as the “Secret War” as the bombings were conducted covertly without the knowledge of the American public. The impacts of this war were devastating, with large areas of Laos heavily bombed, leaving a lasting legacy of unexploded ordnance that continues to pose dangers to the population.
